Primal Primer 3 (Mentality)
In both ancient and modern epochs, humans have always battled against ailments in efforts of optimal performance for thriving and surviving. From injurious interactions with animal and foe, poisons from ill identified mushrooms, to modern self inflicted maladies of inactivity and poisons from chemical and overconsumption; the sapien seeks a state of optimal being despite entropy. In all cases, long term health is contingent on swiftly identifying and solving injury and degradation as they arrive and accumulate. Although our ancestors lacked certified medical establishments, they surely relied on knowledgeable healing specialists while also owning their own responsibility of self repair before returning to the hunting pack strong.
How to Align with Ailments
Aligning with ailments is a meditation of focusing awareness on your most acute or chronic health irregularities (modern medical tests blood pressure, cholesterol, cancer screenings, etc. can also be leveraged).
Ailment alignment is not an act of resisting them, but rather moving in concert with them. From understanding we can generate cogent solutions.
- Investigation – Seek understanding. What are you feeling (symptoms)? What is different from baseline (can this be quantified)? Honestly intuit causal factors (often we know the injurious activities that cause chronic and acute disease states).
- Take Deliberate Steps – We can’t solve years of psychological or physiological damage (heart disease, arthritis, obesity, anxiety, or depression) in one day or from a single action, but it all starts there. Start small and build healthful adjustments and interventions.
- Patience – Similar to the paths of dysfunction, healing takes time. Take notice and build off interventions. Often healing is the accumulation of healthful practice and removal of maladaptive and unnatural living habits.
- Seek Medicine Man – There are times when we reach limits of our investigative solutions and require professional medical intervention. Be wary of Intervention that claims solution in treating symptoms while ignoring causation.

When experiencing mental and physical ailment, seek to candidly determine base causations. Often times our lifestyle decisions are major forces that manifest said ailments. Like onions, many modern day pathologies contain layers to dysfunction; requiring diligent investigation and intervention. Honesty and action are great starting places for healing to start and continue.
