Ancient humans did not measure macros, nor did they willingly “diet.” The landscape of fueling was quite different as availability and reliability of food was highly dependent upon season, hunting success, and ability to generate and store surplus. They topped off their tanks when hunting was successful, ate fruit and vegetation in season, and stored surpluses for winter and hardship when available.
Today, we live in an environment of predictable opulence and pathogenic availability. We now fight ourselves daily to avoid the pitfalls of convenience and choice; endeavoring to make healthful decisions despite marketing and addicting lab generated ingredients that compel instinct at every level of gene satiation. Now more than ever, we must be intentional and aware of what and how much fuel enter the body: we must understand macro nutrient consumption.
Macro Nutrient Consumption
Macro nutrients are defined as calorie, protein, fat, and carbohydrate (arrangements of energy); and are critical levers for adjusting performance and body composition. When pursuing muscle mass, losing fat, or seeking peak performance for race, hike, or fight, your macros are highly influential in fueling your goal points. Understanding these macro baselines and adjusting fueling style in accordance is the blueprint and antecedent towards any goal crushing in health and performance.

Consistent daily tracking is the foundation for effective self-assessment, allowing you to make informed adjustments and regain control over your Supreme Being journey.
